GetRelief provides a structured, guided process for submitting settlement proposals. Here is exactly what to expect at each stage.
Register & Create Your Account
Create a free account with your name, email address, and mobile number. Your data is handled in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
You will receive a unique application reference number (e.g. GR-VLA-2025-000001) once you start your application.
Complete the 7-Step Application Wizard
Our guided wizard walks you through every section: owner details, vehicle information, outstanding amounts, your settlement offer, hardship context, supporting documents, and consent.
Your application is saved as a draft at every step — you can stop and return at any time. Nothing is submitted until you explicitly confirm.
Upload Supporting Documents
Attach required documents: a copy of your South African ID (or company registration for businesses) and proof of the outstanding vehicle licence amount.
Documents are stored securely and are only accessed by authorised GetRelief staff during the review process.
Your Application is Reviewed
Our team reviews your application for completeness and accuracy. We may request additional documents or corrections before proceeding. You will be notified at every step.
We verify that your settlement offer percentage and financial details are consistent and credible before including your application in a campaign.
Grouped into a Collective Campaign
Verified applications are grouped into a collective settlement proposal campaign. Grouping applications strengthens the overall proposal by demonstrating collective intent to settle.
You will be notified when your application has been included in an active campaign.
Proposal Submitted to the Authority
The collective proposal is compiled and formally submitted to the relevant road traffic authority for their independent consideration.
GetRelief does not negotiate on your behalf, does not act as a legal representative, and does not guarantee any outcome.
Await the Authority's Independent Decision
The road traffic authority reviews the collective proposal and communicates their decision. GetRelief will update your application status as information is received.
All decisions are made solely and independently by the relevant authority. GetRelief has no influence over the outcome.
